EWEB Board Meeting with McKenzie Valley Community
EWEB have postponed their planned upriver meeting with the McKenzie community. The original planned date was in Sept. this was moved to Nov. when the fire struck and has now been shifted to next spring, exact date TBC. This meeting is important to everyone upriver because of EWEB’s watershed recovery role, but particularly important to those who have power supplied by EWEB, Thompson Lane in Vida and west.
Nearer the time EWEB will reach out to the CDC and the community for recommendations on meaningful content for the meeting and have already aknowledged their need to consider the inclusion of local efforts to expand community communications.
Statement from EWEB
We appreciate that the McKenzie Valley community will be focused on recovery from the Holiday Farm Fire for months to come, so we decided to postpone our special Upriver meeting until next Spring, when it may perhaps be easier for our customers to engage with us.
We are tentatively planning on Tuesday, April 20th.
Joe Harwood’s communication plan for the meeting includes:
1) Run display ads in McKenzie River Reflections for the three weeks preceding the meeting;
2) Write a news release for MRR and submit it as an article two weeks before meeting;
3) Write up a Newsroom story 30 days before the meeting, then share on social media a few times initially, then share more frequently in the two weeks before the meeting;
4) Send out the news release to the email guides listserv.
In the meantime, we are here and eager to listen to any feedback or concerns from our customers. I’m hoping you will share the new meeting date with your groups and extend our invitation to reach out to us in the interim if they so desire.
