Meet your McKenzie District Deputy Team!

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office is excited to introduce the deputies and sergeant assigned to the newly formed McKenzie River Law Enforcement District!  Deputy Russ Olson and Deputy Tom Speldrich will be patrolling the McKenzie River Valley, along with Sergeant Steve Sieczkowski (or “Ski” for short).

Pictured from left to right are Deputy Russ Olson, Sergeant Steve Sieczkowski, and Deputy Tom Speldrich. Together they have almost 60 years of law enforcement experience serving Lane County!

Deputy Olson served as the resident deputy in the McKenzie area when the Resident Deputy Program was active, and he’s glad to be back working with the community!  Deputy Olson brings with him over 20 years of police experience with a focus on community based policing.

Deputy Speldrich has roots in the McKenzie Valley and is a big fan of fishing the McKenzie River!  He has been in law enforcement for 16 years with a focus on traffic safety, and is eager to serve the McKenzie River community!

Sergeant Sieczkowski currently supervises and works alongside deputies assigned to specific districts or functions, including the Sheriff’s Office Civil Section, Marine Patrol and the newly formed McKenzie River District.  He also serves as a Team Leader for the Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) and on the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT), and brings with him over 20 years of law enforcement experience.

Also, keep an eye out for the newly marked McKenzie patrol vehicles!
