Firewise Community Meeting Monday June 7th 5:30pm
Please join us to learn about Firewise and discuss McKenzie Firewise community boundaries!
Several local partners, including Pure Water Partners, Oregon Department of Forestry, McKenzie Fire, and Upper McKenzie Fire, are working together to explore the development of McKenzie Firewise communities. Becoming a certified Firewise Community is an effort by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) to encourage communities to work together and become more fire-resilient. These volunteer initiatives protect residents and their homes by identifying and reducing fire hazards. Examples of this type of work can include clearing fuels from around your home, ensuring access for emergency vehicles, or removing debris from your roof.
This meeting will be an opportunity to learn more about Firewise Communities, provide feedback on proposed community boundaries, and express interest in becoming a board member and/or a participating homeowner (agenda attached).
A Zoom meeting link will be sent to you once you have RSVP’d to the email listed below. Please share broadly with your neighbors and networks!
