Business & Economy
Businesses in the McKenzie Valley that had already faced a difficult year due to the COVID-19 global pandemic are now additionally coping with the aftermath of the Holiday Farm Fire. Many have lost their business as well as their homes, and even those who were fortunate enough to escape destruction often face substantial loss in terms of inventory, damage, and loss of business due to extended closure, drop in tourism, and the displacement of residents.
Yet our business community is “McKenzie Strong” and determined to see the rebirth of the valley’s economy. Many have already reopened and more are making preparations to follow. There are also those who have wanted to pursue ventures in the region but have not had the opportunity so far. The McKenzie CDC is working to gather information and resources to help all of those individuals and businesses to build a thriving economy for locals and visitors.
